Connecticut spreads awareness of invasive species at area boat launches

Several boat inspection areas will be set up this weekend as part of Aquatic Invasive Species Awareness Weekend.

The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection staff members will be on hand from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at boat launches to educate boaters about clean and safe boating practices and check boats for invasive species.

Staff will be at boat launches at Lattins Cove, 8 Forty Acre Mountain Road in Danbury; Squantz Pond, Old Bogus Road in New Fairfield; Lake Zoar, 210 Scout Road in Southbury; and Lake Lillinonah, 162 Hanover Road in Bridgewater. There will also be staff at Highland Lake and Coventry Lake.  Click on the following sentence to access the full story.
